A century and a half after John Henry Newman lectured on The Idea of a University, five prominent intellectuals and public figures offer their personal reflections under an updated version of his classic title.

This series is co-hosted by Green College with the Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Education, and the Centre for Policy Studies in Higher Education and Training (CHET) at UBC.

December 2nd’s speaker is Robert Gibbs, Professor of Philosophy, Director of the Jackman Humanities Institute, University of Toronto, and author of Why Ethics? Signs of Responsibilities (2000).
